The only difference being the original was made in Japan, and the new one is made in the USA.The new compressor came with PAG oil, which you are supposed to pour into a calibrated cylinder to compare with the amount of oil in the old compressor. The only thing is that my old compressor only had 2-3 drops in it, so I was not sure whether to match the drops or just install the new compressor with all the oil. I installed the new compressor with all it's oil. It is my understanding that the compressor comes with the right amount anyway. I installed new accumulator/drier and I had the system flushed and refilled with 3lbs of freon. Everything works great. I no longer have any vibration or whirring when my a/c is on. The existing compressor was failing at about 85,000 miles and causing the belt tensioner to rattle violently. This replacement was heavy duty and appears to be working well. The replacement procedure is a little involved and required me to get under the truck to get to the inside bolts, but it was well worth it for the satisfaction of doing it myself and the $$$ savings.  Broken Electrical Connector, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Denso 471-0316 New Compressor with Clutch (Automotive) I received the product on time. The only complaint I have is the packaging was not good enough to protect the electrical connector (heat sensor) on the back end (opposite of the pulley). I opened the box, ready to install it and found the collar of the electrical connector had been smashed.The smashed connection was still able to receive the heat sensor harness, but the water-resistant seal of the connection was no longer able to happen. I wrapped it in electrical tape to make due since I already had things in my engine compartment taken apart and didn't want to wait another week for a new part that may, or may not have the same issue. That, and I have already been 3 weeks without A/C in the summer. It was easy to go together and having it pre-loaded with the correct amount of PAG oil was very convenient. |
